The most important distinction to make is between screening and diagnosis. An online tool is a screening instrument. It identifies the presence of traits and calculates a probability. A clinical diagnosis, however, involves a multi-hour evaluation by a psychologist or psychiatrist.
| Feature | Online Screening Tool | Clinical Diagnostic Evaluation |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Self-discovery and initial insight | Formal medical record and legal support |
| Duration | 15 - 30 minutes | 4 - 8 hours (often over multiple days) |
| Provider | Self-administered (with AI/Score analysis) | Licensed medical professional |
| Result | Probability score and trait report | Official medical diagnosis |
